Sometimes you get home from a wedding and think, “I want to do it all again…” – sometimes because things didn’t go exactly as planned; sometimes because it feels as though there’s so much more that could have been done, if only this or if only that; and sometimes it’s because it was so unbelievably pleasant and fun, you just really want to do it all again! Michelle and David’s Mouzon House wedding in Saratoga Springs last Saturday was one of those that I wanted to do again, just for the sheer love of it. I’ve been fortunate to have quite a few of those lately, and I’m thrilled Michelle and David continued the streak. What a lovely day they had, from the weather, to their sweet interactions with one another and their guests, to the quiet simplicity of their low-key day. You could tell, they genuinely enjoy the company of one another. Guests came from all over to celebrate, and Michelle and David came from their home in California – a destination wedding, of sorts. Even the attire was appropriately simple but elegant. And the Mouzon House Restaurant was a sweet setting for this intimate event. Flowers were designed by The Posie Peddler and fit the sweet yet simple theme. Certain traditions were also simplified, though still honored, such as their choice to see one another for the first time on the aisle, as Michelle entered to the Beatles on vinyl. I mean, how perfect. So simply perfect. The reception started with a mix and mingle cocktail hour, entertained by a suave jazz quartet, followed by dinner with the couple’s subtle first dance off to the side. David’s brother gave a lovely toast. And they completed the evening events with a polite cake cutting. I was thrilled that we were even able to pop outside for a few nighttime shots in this charming setting, as well.
Congratulations, Michelle and David! I hope your day was everything you had hoped for and more. Thank you for having me! It was a pleasure.
