My approach is simple, fun and organic, allowing moments to happen naturally. While my approach is relaxed, maintaining a respectful distance with minimal interference, I am always available to make sure you look your best and offer guidance. Authenticity is important to me. I want you to have fun at your event, and I strive to capture your unique style and personalities in a way that suits you best. I work closely with you leading up to the event to promote an easy flow to your day, providing suggestions and tips, making note of feedback and requests, and finally by providing a suggested timeline to ensure you get the most out of your investment.
To reserve your date, 1/3 of the package total is retained with a contract signed by the bride and/or groom. Small event coverage is also available upon request for events less than 100 guests; inquire for more information.

All sessions typically yield an online preview gallery with nearly double the number of images included in the package to give clients a range of choice and options. You have the option of purchasing additional images while your proofing gallery is live. All chosen images are retouched and provided as print-ready files, sized to 8×12 for easy storage (printable to 11×14 without quality loss) with print rights; unedited files are not available. Specialty Sets include all the images in the online gallery with print rights. Professional prints and other products are available for purchase from your online gallery.
As stated, print rights are included allowing DYI printing, although quality (clarity and color) cannot be guaranteed on images printed by other labs. Large files may be purchased from your online gallery for large prints (16×20 and larger). While chosen images are archived for a limited time (though they cannot be guaranteed indefinitely); images not chosen are eliminated to maintain an efficient workflow. It is highly recommend that you print all your images for safe-keeping. Digital formats are somewhat unstable with changing formats, etc. but you can always make a negative from a print.
Family & Specialty Sessions
Depending on the season, sessions book 1-2 months in advance. To get the most from your investment, be mindful of when you schedule your session, especially for little ones. It is strongly recommended to NOT schedule your session under the following conditions: extreme weather (hot, cold or wet); days of field trips or heavy activity; days of doctor appointments (immunizations) or immediately following illness. In the interest of capturing the absolute best results, sessions are scheduled 60-90 minutes prior to sunset whenever possible.
For extended family sessions, the primary client is the individual who books the session. This person will become the point of contact. All proof materials will be delivered to the address provided on the billing information, unless otherwise specified in writing. Full payment is due at the time of booking your session or package. Of that amount, $150 is retained as a nonrefundable booking fee to secure your date on the calendar. While the studio understands the unpredictability of family life, illnesses and unforeseen circumstances, including weather, at least 24 hours notice is requested to avoid an additional $50 rebooking fee. The session may be rescheduled to a new date within 30 days of the original date, after which additional fees may apply to reflect any change in rates. No-shows will forfeit their entire fees compensation due to loss of income with no reschedule date available.
An engagement session offers a fabulous opportunity to become acquainted without the frenzied constraints of time and structure found on the wedding day. During the session, photographer and client get to know one another, yielding a familiarity that adds value on your wedding day. I learn what works for you, and you get a sense of how to compose yourself in a natural way. You also get to keep a polished collection of sweet images of you as a couple in settings and attire different from your wedding day – so much better than those slightly out-of-focus selfies that become lost on your camera phone!
Couples often schedule sessions to take place in a favorite season or location that is meaningful to them. For save-the-dates, at least 6 months prior to the wedding is recommended. Sessions are scheduled in the evening 60-90 minutes prior to sunset, most often Monday – Thursday. Sessions booked with wedding coverage are discounted.
Belly sessions are so special! My style is organic and casual, rather than formal or sultry. Sessions are best scheduled at 32-36 weeks, to allow for comfort, potential reschedules and possible early deliveries. Locations may include outdoors or in-home. Multiple looks are included and props are always welcome to personalize your session. Your images include detailed skin retouching, perfect for those bare belly shots. Of course, your comfort-level determines how much you choose to bear. Through subtle posing techniques, you celebrate the beauty that this new journey has brought to you. I can help you choose a location that is quiet and private so you feel most comfortable and relaxed. Also available are announcement sessions and gender reveals. Sessions are scheduled 60-90 minutes prior to sunset.
Newborn and Baby Sessions
Babies! For newborns, I strive to remain flexible to accommodate early and late arrivals; therefore, a limited number of sessions are booked per month. For this reason, expectant parents are encouraged to secure their newborn sessions in advance of the birth, either in the second trimester or early in the third trimester to guarantee availability. Sessions are scheduled to take place within 10 days of birth (5-7 is ideal) and may be adjusted if baby arrives early or late. Older newborns may be scheduled with the understanding that the results may be different, as they are often less receptive to posing and more rigid and ‘wiggly.’ Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours to allow ample time for soothing and feeding (3-4 hours with family shots). In-home sessions focus more on family with the baby photographed in their natural environment with minimal use of props. In-studio sessions focus more on baby, with posing, props and refined lighting techniques. Outdoor sessions may be requested, determined by weather and temperature. Baby’s comfort and safety always comes first.
If you miss the newborn window, the next best time for photographing baby is the ‘Heads-up’ session at approximately 3-4 months, when baby can hold up his or her head, usually booked as a Short Session for baby-only or a Full Session for baby with family. Even better is the ‘Sitter Session’ at around 6-7 months, when baby can sit alone without assistance. For the ‘First Birthday Session’, you may opt for a playful cake-smashing, as well as family and baby portraits. Ask about our special arrangements for ‘cold-weather’ birthdays! Packages are available and include a collection of these sessions at a discounted rate. Inquire for details.
