Asha's First Year - Baby Photography

It's such a huge honor to be a part client's most important life moments, from weddings to baby photography and family sessions, celebrating all of life's milestones.  Getting to know little Asha and her parents (and fur sibling Mo-Mo) and seeing them grow as a family, from 9 months in to 9 months out and beyond, definitely falls into that category!

We started with a maternity session, celebrating the impending arrival of baby girl P.  Mom absolutely glowed with excitement while Dad beamed with anticipation.  Mo-Mo, well, he didn't quite know what to make of any of it.  lol.  But I'm glad to hear that sister and fur-brother get along just fine.

 

After Asha's arrival, Mom and Dad opted for an in-home newborn session for her very first session earthside. I love baby photography, capturing all the newness and sweetness.  I especially adore the mom and dad snuggly photos.  It was an extra-special treat to capture Asha with her grandparents, who live abroad.

After the newborn session, the sitter session typically follows around 6-7 months; however, Mom and Dad opted for a later session in fall.  The amazing thing that Mom pointed out was that it was the exactly one year in the same location since we did the maternity session!  It was a complete coincidence, but a fun one for sure.  They had come full circle indeed!

 

Finally, we wrapped up her first year milestone sessions with a studio shoot for her first birthday (sans cake smash), in which she wore the same garb that she rested on during her newborn session.  This is another thing I love - incorporating those personal elements so unique to the family.  Lastly, we finished with an outdoor family session among the tulips, where you can really see how much Asha has grown into a spunky, sweet toddler.

I love splitting the first birthday session into two short sessions - one, to capture baby at the first-birthday milestone without the worry of weather, especially if parents wish to include a cake smash.  Then, when the weather is more favorable, we gather for the family portion of the session.  This works especially well with winter birthdays, like Asha's.
